To remove an element in Webflow like a navbar, container, link block, or label, you'll need to use the Designer’s interface since there’s no visible "trash bin" by default.
1. Select the Element
- Open your Webflow project in the Designer.
- Click on the element you want to delete (e.g., a Navbar, Container, Link Block).
- Make sure only the intended element is selected—check the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the Designer if you’re unsure.
2. Use the Delete Option
- Right-click on the selected element in the canvas or Navigator panel.
- From the context menu, click Delete.
3. Use the Delete Key Shortcut
- Alternatively, with the element selected, press the Delete key on your keyboard (Backspace on Mac).
- This method works for any element selected in the Designer or Navigator.
4. Use the Navigator Panel for Easier Access
- Click the Navigator icon (left sidebar) to see a full hierarchy of elements.
- Find the item you want to remove, right-click it, and choose Delete.
- This is helpful for selecting nested or overlapping items that are hard to click directly on the canvas.
5. Double-Check Symbol or Component Status
- If the item is part of a Symbol or Component, deleting it will remove it from all instances.
- In that case, either detach the Symbol/Component first or edit the master version.
6. Publish and Preview
- After deletion, preview the page to verify the element is gone.
- Publish the site to apply changes to the live version.
Summary
To delete any element in Webflow, select it in the Designer or Navigator, then right-click and choose Delete, or press the Delete key. Use the Navigator for better visibility of nested elements, and be cautious when deleting items inside Symbols or Components.
