Can images be exported from the Webflow asset panel for editing?

TL;DR
  • Manually download images by opening each one from the Webflow Designer’s Asset panel in a new tab and saving them.
  • Alternatively, export the full site (if on a paid plan) to access all assets from the downloaded images folder.

Webflow does not provide a direct export option from the Asset panel, but you can still manually access and download the images for editing.

1. Download Assets Manually from the Designer

  • Open the Webflow Designer and go to the Assets panel (press J or click the photo icon in the left toolbar).
  • Right-click the image you want and choose Open in New Tab.
  • In the new tab, the image will open via its hosted CDN link.
  • Right-click and select “Save image as…” to download it to your device.

2. Consider Exporting the Site for Full Asset Access

  • If you're on a paid plan that allows site export (not CMS-hosted), you can go to Project Settings > Export Code.
  • Export the project and you'll receive all assets in an images folder within the .zip package.

3. Use the Original Files If Possible

  • If you uploaded the assets yourself, it’s better to access the original files from your local storage for editing, instead of downloading them back.

Summary

To edit images from Webflow’s Asset panel, manually open each image in a new tab and download it, or export the full project if available. Webflow does not currently support batch downloading or exporting directly from the Asset panel.
