What should I do to activate the option to change to the Basic Plan in Webflow, if the button is currently disabled and says "No CMS support"?

TL;DR
  • Delete all CMS Collections and CMS-bound elements in the Designer.
  • Verify the CMS panel is empty and all dynamic bindings are removed.
  • Publish the site and go to Project Settings > Hosting to select the now-enabled Basic Plan.

If the “Basic Plan” option is disabled and marked with “No CMS support”, your Webflow project is using CMS features that are not supported on the Basic Plan.

1. Remove CMS Features in Your Project

To enable the Basic Plan, you must first remove all CMS-related content and structures, because the Basic Plan does not support CMS Collections or dynamic content.

  • Delete all CMS Collections: Go to the CMS panel (Collections) in the Designer or Editor and delete every Collection. Webflow won’t allow you to choose the Basic Plan while any Collections still exist.
  • Remove Collection Pages: After deleting the Collections, make sure the Collection Pages are also gone automatically.
  • Disconnect any CMS-bound elements: In the Designer, remove any elements that are bound to dynamic CMS content. For example, Rich Text blocks or Collection Lists tied to a Collection must be fully deleted or unbound.

2. Confirm That No CMS Features Remain

Once you’ve removed the CMS content:

  • Check the CMS tab in the Designer to ensure it’s empty.
  • Ensure all bindings are removed: Any element linked to a CMS item must be detached or deleted.
  • Publish the site again just to verify that changes are recognized.

3. Go to Hosting Settings

  • Go to Project Settings > Hosting tab
  • Scroll to the Site Plan options. If CMS features are fully removed, the Basic Plan button should now be enabled and clickable.
  • Choose the Basic Plan, and proceed with checkout.

Summary

You can only activate the Basic Plan once all CMS Collections and dynamic content are removed from your project. Webflow disables the Basic Plan selection for any site still using CMS features. Clean up your CMS content, and the plan option will become available.
