Webflow’s rich text editor now supports native embedding for more content types via enhanced Embed support.
1. Native Embed Element Support in Rich Text
- You can now insert embed elements directly inside rich text blocks (e.g., in blog posts managed using CMS).
- This works within the CMS rich text field and in static rich text elements across the Designer and Editor.
2. Drag-and-Drop Video and Custom Code
- You can drag and drop videos (or paste links from supported platforms like YouTube or Vimeo) into the rich text field and Webflow will auto-convert them into embeds.
- A new custom code embed option is also available inside rich text, letting you paste script or iframe-based content directly.
3. CMS Editor Support
- Collaborators using the Webflow Editor (non-Designer access) can now also embed rich content without needing custom workarounds or code assistance.
- Editors can embed YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, and more directly from the Editor interface in a user-friendly way.
4. Improved Content Management Flexibility
- This update significantly improves editorial workflow for content-heavy sites like blogs, documentation portals, or marketing pages.
- More third-party platforms are now natively supported in embed previews for rich text.
Summary
Webflow has added native embed functionality to the rich text editor, including support for videos, iframes, and custom code—usable in both the Designer and CMS Editor—to simplify embedding dynamic, rich media content.
