You’re likely unable to choose the Basic Site Plan in Webflow because it only supports static websites without CMS features, and your project may include CMS content.
1. Understand the Basic Site Plan Limitations
- The Basic Plan is designed for simple marketing websites that do not use Webflow CMS or E-commerce features.
- CMS Collections, Collection pages, and dynamic content require at least a CMS Site Plan.
2. Check If You're Using CMS Features
- Go to the Designer and check if your project includes:
- Any CMS Collections
- Collection pages
- Collection Lists used on normal pages
- If any of these are present, Webflow disables the option to select the Basic Plan.
3. Remove CMS Features If You Want to Use the Basic Plan
- If you intend to downgrade to the Basic Plan:
- Delete all CMS Collections under the CMS panel
- Remove Collection List elements from all pages
- Check for any Collection Page Templates and unbind or remove them
4. How to Switch to Basic Site Plan
- Once all dynamic CMS elements are removed:
- Go to Project Settings > Hosting
- The Basic Plan option will become selectable under “Site Plans”
- Choose the plan and publish your site to your custom domain
5. Confirm Domain Connection
- Make sure your custom domain is properly added under Project Settings > Hosting > Custom Domains
- Follow Webflow’s instructions to set A records (75.2.70.75, 99.83.190.102) and optionally CNAME records
Summary
You can’t select the Basic Site Plan if your site uses any CMS features. To access this plan, remove all CMS content and disable Collection elements, then revisit the Hosting settings to choose the Basic Plan.
