If your Webflow canvas width changed to 993px x 100px and you want to revert it to the default 1165px x 100%, here's how to do it.
1. Check the Current Selected Breakpoint
- Look at the top center of the Designer to see which breakpoint is currently active.
- It’s likely you're viewing the tablet breakpoint (993px) instead of desktop (default 1165px).
- Click the desktop icon to switch back to the main desktop breakpoint.
2. Reset Section or Body Height if Manually Changed
- If your section height is set to 100px, it could be overriding the default.
- Select each section, body, or wrapper element, and check the Height settings in the Style panel.
- Clear any manual pixel settings and set height to Auto or 100%, as needed.
3. Use the Default Canvas Settings
- Webflow's default canvas width for desktop is 1165px, and its height will follow your page content.
- If there’s custom styling (e.g., width set to 993px), select the Body or main container, and check the Width settings.
- Click the blue “reset” icon next to width if it's overridden.
4. Inspect Custom Classes or Global Settings
- A class may have set a max-width or width manually to 993px.
- Check your global classes (like
.container
, .wrapper
) and compare them at different breakpoints. - If needed, go to Navigator, select the element, and review in the Style panel.
5. Clear Unwanted Styles from Breakpoints
- Styles added at smaller breakpoints can cascade down or conflict upward if manually applied.
- Go to lower breakpoints (tablet, mobile) and clear any conflicting styles.
- Then return to desktop view to verify everything resets correctly.
Summary
To restore the canvas to 1165px x 100%, switch back to the desktop breakpoint, and remove any custom height/width styles on your sections or body elements. Also, check for style overrides at lower breakpoints or in global classes.
